    Description

US M1817 .54 caliber 'Common Rifle" in Original Flintlock Configuration, Deringer. Metal generally smooth and gray with just some light surface rust near the muzzle and a couple of vise marks near the breech that could be readily 'neatened up', no rust or pitting. Excellent markings, including large GF above the P/US at the breech. Mechanically perfect, really excellent deeply rifled bore. The gun is complete and original in every respect including original ramrod. Wood really excellent, near perfect with crisp V inspector's mark, and just a few very minor scratches/dents. Nice honest example of this desirable US rifle and quite scarce in original flintlock.
