Spanish-American War: National Guard of New York, Troop "C" Named Shooting Award and Rare Puerto Rico Campaign Medal.

Includes: 1) Rare Puerto Rico campaign medal, bronze 38-mm planchet captioned on the obverse: "AIBONITO COAMO ASAMONTE PORTO RICO" with crossed sabers, the date "AUG 9-12" and "N.Y.V." The reverse is captioned: "PRESENTED / DEC. 1st 1898 / AUX. CORPS / OF / TROOP C / MAY-NOV." The medal is suspended from a bronze eagle pendant captioned "NEW YORK". Yellow silk ribbon. 2) Bronze shooting medal awarded to William L. Norton, Troop "C", National Guard, New York. Maker-marked Tiffany on the reverse. Planchet measures 37 x 37-mm. Eagle pendant captioned "MARKSMAN", with bars for "SHARPSHOOTER" and "EXPERT". Engraved on the reverse: "Wm. L. Norton / Troop C / N.G. N.Y."
