Spanish-American War: Four Named State of California Spanish-American Service Medals.Includes: 1) State of California "FOR SERVICE IN THE SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR 1898-99" bronze medal, 38-mm in diameter, "CALIFORNIA" bronze pendant. The reverse is engraved to "Chris Smith" and the pendant is numbered 6234. 2) As above, engraved to "F. W. Gowan / Co. G. 14th INF.", pendant numbered 919. 3) As above, engraved to "W. M. Phillips / Bat A H.A. / 1st CAL U.S.V.", numbered 1146 on the pendant. 4) As above, engraved to "Claire F. Knerr / CORPORAL / Co G / 1st Regt Cal Vols" numbered 625 on the pendent.
