Five National Guard of California Marksmanship and Veteran Badges, 1903-1923.Includes: 1) 1903 First California Guard, 1st Cavalry, A Troop badge made by Strippel, San Francisco. Numbered "41" on the reverse. Crossed sabers pendant. 2) 1909 Troop C Cavalry National Guard of California sterling state trophy badge. Mayes Brothers maker mark, stamped sterling. 3) 1909-1910 National Guard of California marksmanship badge with two 14k gold "DISTINQUISHED MARKSMAN" clasps. Shreve maker mark and marked sterling. Unnamed but numbered "7568" on the reverse. 4) National Guard of California veterans' sterling badge. Maker marked Shreve. Unnamed but numbered "198" on the reverse. 5) 1913-1923 sterling silver marksmanship badge with five 14k gold "EXPERT RIFLEMAN" clasps and one bronze "MARKSMANSHIP" clasp. Shreve & Co. maker mark. Unnamed but numbered "9170" on the reverse.
