Beautiful U. S. Springfield Armory Model 1892 Krag Bolt-Action Rifle Shortened to Carbine Length. Cal. 030-40. Serial number 2290. A handsome rifle with an 1894 receiver date, professionally shortened to an overall length of 41½" (barrel 22½"). This rifle, as was the case with nearly the entire production of Model 1902s, was altered to the 1896 style by having the cleaning rod channel filled with wood. Once Krags were considered surplus by the U.S. government in the early 1900s, a few firms devoted their entire business to the alteration of these superb rifles for mail order sales. It is almost certain that one of these firms shortened the stock and barrel to its current configuration. The rifle retains much of its former military character including the adjustable rear sight, front sight, sling mounts, military finish and stock cartouche which has an 1896-dated arsenal stamp. The condition is excellent with only light storage wear.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
