    Sharps Model 1851 .52 Caliber Percussion "Box Lock" Carbine Serial #1136 Very scarce gun with a total of only 1,857 produced. All metal generally smooth and gray with areas of salt and peppering in the breech / hammer / primer door area. Strong crisp action with crisp functioning primer mechanism. Excellent bore, crisp deep markings. Buttstock is very good with just some minor dents and a 1" hairline, with no loss at the toe of the butt. Stock with deep patina. Forestock very good with just some small dents at the hinge retaining spring. All original brass furniture in excellent condition. Correct original sights. A very nice untouched example of this rare and desirable Sharps carbine just showing minor honest use.
