    Description

Sculpture: Grenadier of the French Imperial Guard Advancing across the Battlefield, c. 1850, bronze on a marble plinth, 23" high to the point of the bayonet. The very evocative bronze shows a grenadier in the Emperor Napoleon's loyal Imperial Guard stepping over a shattered wagon wheel on a field of battle littered with cannon balls. The bronze is unsigned with no visible foundry mark. The patina is rich and smooth.
