Sculpture: Ernest Dagonet, Revolutionary Drummer. Bronze on a marble plinth, 25.5" high. The magnificent bronze depicts a barefoot female revolutionary wearing a hussar's jacket and with an overcoat draped over her shoulder and a bonnet de police on her head. She has a drum thrown over her shoulder and a laurel branch and drumsticks raised above her head. The bronze is signed "E. Dagonet" on the base and has the Fumiere et Cie / Thiebaut et Fils foundry mark. The patina is a warm brown. Very fine.
