Metal dark with light - moderate pitting, markings readable. Bolt action working, underhammer with not stay at full cock, dark bore. Stock solid with moderate dents and scratches, wood scorched at the nipple. Tang sling swivel broken off. Butt aperture contains original cleaning brush. A good representative example of the first bolt action rifle adapted by the U.S. Army.
