Wonderful Untouched Early 18th Century New England Fish Belly Club Butt Musket. In totally untouched condition, unmarked 54 3/8" octagon to round .78 caliber smoothbore barrel with a deep dark undisturbed patina. Fine quality lock with deep patina marked with the initials "S.L" and and indecipherable makers name, crisp tight action, bottom lock screw. Distinctive heavy butt walnut stock with beautiful dark rich patina in generally excellent condition save for a crack ending in an old chip at the front of the lock and a few old minor chips. Heavy iron trigger guard held fast with iron nails. There is an old piece of wool cloth wrapped on the trigger guard behind the hammer. Brass butt plate and ramrod pipes have a deep dark patina. Complete with original ramrod. An absolutely stunning musket both for its superb quality and undisturbed condition.
