Pair of English F/L Screw Barrel Pocket Pistols C. 1760. All iron construction, 6¾" overall with 2 1/8" tapered screw barrels with cannon turnings at the muzzle, with additional turnings on the upper half. Lug for removal. Engraved details where the barrel joins the breech. Rounded frames/ breech profusely scroll engraved with maker's ribands Wilson/ London. English proofs on the underside of the breech. Wide trigger guard with floral engraving with additional engraving on the sides of the pan and tang. Also engraved details on the edge of the hammer and frizzen. Frizzen spring with accentuated decorative curl. Mechanically perfect. Bag shaped grips near perfect with just one tiny hairline, not affecting soundness on the right side of one gun at the frame. All metal smooth and clean. Wonderful little pair of pistols in very fine condition.
