Magnificent Pair of British 18th Century Silver Mounted Holster Pistols. 15¼" overall with 9" stepped down .65 caliber smoothbore round barrels. Proof marks and decorative engraving at the breech and marked Londini on the top. All metal smooth and clean with just a few minor patches of very light pitting. Round faced locks and hammers, decoratively scroll engraved, and marked Gandon in a scroll panel in the center. Exquisite silver mountings with date marks for both 1723/24 (H) and 1724/25 ( I ). Intricate openwork side plates and elaborate wrist escutcheons with rudimentary masks. Large silver butt caps with grotesque mask in the center. Stocks superb with deep rich patina and overall about perfect. Extensively relief carved including at tang, lock and side plate panels, forestock molding, and extensive work at the lower ramrod pipe. Both retain the original ramrods, one with cleaning jag on the tip. A truly exceptional pair of silver mounted British pistols from the first quarter of the 18th century.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
