    British Silver Mounted Queen Anne F/L Screw Barrel Belt Pistol. 12" overall with 5 1/8" cannon-turned .60 caliber smoothbore barrel. Lug on the underside to facilitate barrel removal. Marked "I. Nicholes" on the underside of the breech with British proofs. Hammer, breech, tang and trigger guard delicately engraved. 2½" silver side plate with panoply of arms. Metal generally smooth and clean with just a few minor scattered patches of light pitting. Beautiful fan like relief carved detail behind the tang. Silver wrist escutcheon engraved with initials and coat of arms. Silver grotesque mask buttcap. Wood excellent with nice patina although there is a hairline 1½" from the bottom of the butt, not affecting soundness. Beautiful mid-18th century pistol. Complete and original in every respect with no repairs or restoration.
