18th Century French F/L Holster Pistol. 15¾" overall with 9 7/8" .60 caliber smoothbore barrel that is octagonal at the breech, then round to the muzzle. All metal on the gun is about perfect. The lock is exceptional with chiseled relief tendrils on the lockplate, hammer and frizzen, with additional scroll engraving on the lock. Marked "De La Haye A Mastr(???)" with several letters hidden by the frizzen spring finial. All brass furniture including full side plate engraved with arms panoply and scrolls, trigger guard with chaised fleur-de-lis finial. Massive brass butt cap decorated with line engraving. Wood is very fine with nice rich patina, just one chip on the left side at the butt cap extension. The somewhat varied quality of the workmanship displayed on the gun provides the possibility that it is, in fact, a period restock. Retains the original ivory tipped ramrod. Very impressive for both size and condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
