    Description

18th Century American Curly Maple Stock Original Flintlock Pistol 9" round iron smoothbore .65 cal. barrel mostly smooth and dark with just some pitting at the touch hole, breech with 3 British proofs - one of which "RW" with crown, possibly London maker Richard Wilson. Unmarked American made lock with gooseneck hammer in excellent condition, hammer screw replaced. Appears to be original flintlock configuration. Brass trigger guard, thimbles and side plate are American made. Beautifully figured curly maple stock in excellent condition save for a well done wood repair at the rear of the lock which is nearly undetectable. A wonderful American pistol, and with the exception of the salvaged barrel obviously entirely of American manufacture, possibly dating as early as the period of the American Revolution.
