18th Century All Steel British Four Barrel Swivel Breech F/L Pistol. 8¼" overall and, understandably quite heavy. 2 1/8" .38 caliber screw barrels with star pattern cut at the muzzle to facilitate removal. All metal smooth and clean with just some minor salt and peppering. Line engraving at the breech and decorative scroll/ floral engraving on the frame and bag shaped grip, with all engraving showing some wear as the result of obvious use. Right hammer does not stay at full cock, else mechanically perfect, including sliding safety. Interestingly constructed with a brass shim at the juncture of the frame and breech, obviously to serve as a gas check. The frizzen springs are actually recessed into the top of the breech, most unusual. Completely original with absolute no repair or restoration, and a very rare British multi shot handgun.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
