    Rare Top Secret Bigot XIX Corps D-Day Operation Plan Neptune, Copy No. 114 of 250.




    8 ¼ x 10 ¾-inches, 54 pages printed on the recto and verso; 5 large folding maps, bound in a folder with printed stiff paper covers. The detailed plan of operations for the XIX Corps in preparation for the Normandy invasion, June 6, 1944. Of particular note are the large folding maps which include "INCL NO. 1 TO XIX CORPS OPERATION PLAN NEPTUNE OPNS MAP", 21 ¼ x 20 ¾-inches, a color map of Omaha and Utah beaches showing their objectives day-by-day after the landing; "INCL NO. 2 TO XIX CORPS OPERATION PLAN NEPTUNE BEACH MAINTENANCE AND INITIAL ASSEMBLY AREAS WITH TRAFFIC CONTROL", 28 x 21-inches, a color map showing all roads and transportation systems with projected supply areas; "INCL NO. 1 TO ANNEX NO. 5 XIX CORPS OPERATION PLAN NEPTUNE GERMAN ORDER OF BATTLE IN THE WEST INFORMATION AS OF 10 MAY 1944 G-2 XIX CORPS", 19 X 20 ¾-inches, a color map showing the various German troops in the western portion of France including the "SS Hitler Jugend" and "SS Adolf Hitler" division; "INCL NO. 2 TO ANNEX NO. 5 XIX CORPS OPERATION PLAN NEPTUNE GERMAN ORDER OF BATTLE IN NEPTUNE AREA INFORMATION AS OF 10 MAY 1944 G-2 XIX CORPS", 23 x 20 ¾-inches, a color map showing the make up of German troops in the Omaha and Utah beach area; "INCL NO. 3 TO ANNEX NO. 5 XIX CORPS OPERATION PLAN NEPTUNE GERMAN ARTILLERY IN NEPTUNE AREA INFORMATION AS OF 10 MAY 1944 G-2 XIX CORPS", 22 ¾ X 20 ¾-inches, shows German artillery positions in the Omaha and Utah beach landing area. This copy was at a later date reclassified from "Top Secret" to "Restricted". A rare document as the number or extant copies must surely be small.

    Condition: Very good. All the maps have closed tears which is to be expected; the paper covers are worn and a bit dirty.
