U.S. M1812 Type II .69 Caliber Smoothbore Flintlock Musket, Springfield, 1813. Original flintlock configuration. Metal generally clean and bright with just some scattered salt and peppering and a few areas of very light pitting, most notably at the breech and on the lock, very minor and detracts little. Mechanically fine, complete and original in every respect with the butt plate tang dated 1816 as is correct. Wood really excellent, near perfect, with nice dark patina and correct recessed cheekpiece, there are no visible inspector's marks. Very fine example of this very scarce U.S. military longarm in original flintlock.
