    Third Seminole War Florida Mounted Volunteers Discharge Certificate. One partially-printed page, 7.75" x 10", Fort Brooke, February 2, 1858, certifying that "John Breanan a Private" of the Florida Mounted Volunteers was discharged due to "being mustered out of service on the expiration of his term". Signed by both the mustering officer and the commanding officer. Breanan had been serving during the Third Seminole War (1855-1858), which had broken out over land disputes between the Seminoles and the white settlers in Florida.

    Condition: Light toning along edges with foxing at corners. Small, clean tear at bottom, center edge. Tiny chip along right margin not affecting any text or border design.
