    Description

    New York State Militia Waist Belt Plate, Circa 1835. 53mm x 77mm. Heavy brass die struck plate with superb detail, "Excelsior" in riband, identical to Plate 166 in O'Donnell & Campbell. Very fine condition, reverse with all of the original gilt and the two original iron tines for attaching to the belt, 12mm tongue. Choice example of a scarce plate.
