    Massachusetts "Sea Fencibles" Flintlock Musket Dated 1825 In untouched condition, .70 caliber, 39 1/4" round barrel fastened to the stock by means of wedges with escutcheons. Breech proofed and dated 1825. Lock marked London Warranted, tight action. Iron is mostly smooth and gray with areas of dried grease mixed with brown staining. Walnut stock, exhibiting an old finish, shows scattered dents and small tight cracks at the escutcheons and at the tail of the lock. Brass fittings show a mellow patina, side plate engraved "No 16", typical unusual butt plate.
