Full Stock Pennsylvania F/L Rifle Probably Eastern Pennsylvania Area C. 1830. 48" .50 cal. octagonal barrel now smooth. Unsigned but exhibits numerous characteristics reminiscent of the Allentown area. Lock appears to be original but an extremely well done reconversion. All metal smooth and brown with just some minor pitting at the breech. Rear ramrod pipe with 2½" extension. The cast brass side plate terminates in an arrow point. All brass furniture including 3½" toeplate, engraved eight pointed brass star inlaid on cheekpiece. Single trigger, small silver wrist escutcheon. Unembellished patchbox with five piercings, opens from the butt plate. The box still contains the original worm. All furniture perfect condition. Maple stock with rudimentary curl in superb condition with nice rich patina, very sharp and crisp. One hairline at the toe of the butt with no loss, minor. Absolutely no repairs or restoration, there are incised lines outlining the lock and side plate area as well as incised lines along the ramrod channel and the bottom of the buttstock. Retains the original ramrod with iron fitting to attach the worm. A very attractive rifle, in unusual length, from a very desirable school in superb condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
