    Description

British Brass Barrel Flintlock Blunderbuss with 11" Snap Bayonet C. 1810. 30½" overall with 14" octagon to round brass barrel with flared muzzle and shallow cannon turnings, 1 3/8" bore. British proofs at the breech. The bayonet blade has a full length narrow central fuller and is about perfect. Locking mechanism mounted on the iron barrel tang, which is scroll engraved. Flat faced lock with roller frizzen, scroll engraved at tail and on hammer with maker's name "LOWE". All iron furniture including ramrod pipe, butt plate with narrow scroll engraved 4¼" extension and trigger guard with acorn finial with scroll/ floral engraving. Wood really excellent, near mint, with cross hatching at the wrist. Retains the original brass tipped ramrod. Really choice example of this desirable form for both quality and condition.
