Nice Grouping Of Civil War Equipment. Group consists of M1855 US issue .58 caliber cartridge box with original US plate. Some minor crackling of the finish but no flaking. Overall completely untouched and very sound with original tins. Nicely maker marked on inside flap "F. CHILLINGSWORTH / MAKER / GREENFIELD, MASS." Very fine quality workmanship with embossed decorative line around the edge of the front flap. A very nice box in desirable condition; non commissioned officer's waist belt with original M1851 rectangular eagle plate with separately affixed silver wreath. Fine quality plate with both the plate and keeper bearing the number 226. Belt very sound with crackling to the finish but minimal flaking. Nice representative example; Civil War US issue cap box. Square flap, missing wool but retains vent pick. Small tear with no loss on one side of latch tab else fine condition. Belts loops with incised line decoration on the edges and riveted. Another very nice representative example. Fine grouping.
