    Model 1833 Dragoon Saber For Philadelphia First City Troop Excellent nickel plated 36" blade etched for 2/3 its length, obverse with scrolls / oakleaves acorns / military trophies / eagle and tent. Makers name "W.H.Horstmann & Sons Philadelphia" in panel above ricasso. Reverse similar with "C.T." for Philadelphia "City Troop" and standing Indian with raised tomahawk etching. Nickel plated 3 branch guard pommel and backstrap are about perfect. Sharkskin grip with double wire wrap are perfect. Nickel scabbard excellent with just a few minor flakes. Exceptional example of this rare sword as used by this famed American mounted military unit C. 1840-50..
