    Description

    Mauser Banner Model P-08 1940-Dated Police Luger. Cal. 9mm. Serial Number 3409x, 4" Barrel. Blue finish, checkered walnut grips. All visible numbers match including the un-maker marked blued magazine with aluminum base. Magazine bottom additionally stamped with "1" as is proper for police issue. Receiver ring dated "1940"; toggle stamped with the Mauser banner. Eagle over "N" proof on the left side of the receiver; police eagle "L" proof on the right side. The pistol retains about 95% of the original finish with holster wear to the high points and muzzle and modest thinning to the grip straps. Crisp action and excellent bore. Walnut grips are excellent with only minor handling marks. The pistol is sold with a 1915-dated brown leather holster complete with magazine loader. The holster is stamped with a maker's mark on the inside of the flap and with "S H 681" stamped on the reverse, indicating use by the municipal police of Hannover district. An American soldier's name is written lightly in ink on the inside flap. A rare pistol in excellent condition.
