Massive Cast Iron Admiral George Dewey Toy Cannon, Spanish American War Era. His image on either side, with name below, a sword passing through the letters. Original painted surface, designed to give a look like nickel plating, largely intact and unmolested. Overall excellent condition, with all four original wheels. Manufacturer's logo "Kenton Brand," on rear panel. One of a vast array of novelty items honoring the "Hero of Manila." The profusion of these items tells more about the jingoistic support for the Spanish American War than about Dewey's personal qualities as a hero. Length 11.25", height 5.75". Probably weighs upwards of five pounds!
