    Description

Massive British 18th Century F/L Dbl Bbl Pistol. Gun retains 98% of what we believe to be a period refinish. Brown Damascus like finish on the barrels, which are marked "Charing Cross London" on the top flat at the breech, case hardened locks, exquisitely engraved and marked "P. Rosser", and bright blue finish on the trigger guard and butt cap which are both profusely engraved with arms panoplies. 15" overall with 9" superposed .52 caliber smoothbore barrels. Steel ramrod mounted on a swivel with "captive" tension spring between the two ferrules. Roller frizzens, gold touchholes and gold band at breech, sliding safeties. The barrel tang also profusely engraved with arms panoplies. Mechanically perfect. Checkered walnut grip with small silver wrist escutcheon behind the tang and cut for a shoulder stock, the steel mounting aperture also profusely engraved. There is what appears to be a small old sliver replaced beneath the right side lock, minor. A most impressive pistol for both form and quality.
