Description

Maine State Flag.
3' x 5' cotton state hoisting flag, circa 1939. On the hoist it reads "17 ME AP" along with an affixed Defiance label. Comes with a letter dated November 18, 1947 attesting to the fact that this flag was obtained from the Blaine House (Governor's Mansion) in Augusta. The flag has some light wear and loss.

This flag was formerly in the collection of Dr. Clarence Rungee, and is accompanied by his original museum inventory sheet with identifying information.
