Juan José Galán Autograph Letter Signed Regarding the Mier Expedition. 4pp., two sided with integral blank, on turquoise paper, San Fernando, December 31, 1842. Galán writes to his brother about "the pleasant news" of the failed Mier Expedition. On the previous day, General Ampudia had "routed the Texans at Mier, killing many and taking two hundred forty-five prisoners. Among [the prisoners] were those who title themselves generals in Texas. We lost a hundred men between officers and soldiers... On Monday, Andres leaves with a wagon load of meat for the Rio Grande to sell to the troops marching to Matamoros with Gen. Woll. That same day, General Reyes is to arrive here with the 2nd Division." Galán also notes the results of a local election. Boldly penned and in fine condition. From the Taking of Texas Collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
