Jenks Percussion .54 Cal. Navy Carbine Dated 1845 Mfg. by N. P. Ames. Very fine, near mint example. The gun retains 95% of the original lacquer brown, just some minor light scratches, negligible. Deep crisp breech and lock markings, mechanically perfect, mint .54 caliber rifled bore. Much original case hardening on lock, hammer and breech lever. All brass furniture perfect with nice light patina with sling ring. Wood also about mint with smooth dark patina and visible inspectors' cartouches. One small dent opposite the lock, else about perfect with distinct feathering. Doubtless unfired.
