Interesting Group of Corps Insignia. This nice grouping of miscellaneous corps emblems includes: a great battlefield-found, soldier-made 23rd Army Corps "shield" formed out of melted lead and etched with stars and stripes, complete with the original crude pin fastener on the reverse; an imposing 17th Corps "arrow" measuring 4.5" long with t-bar fastener on the reverse; a smaller, stamped brass, 2.5" long 17th Corps badge missing the fastening pins; a silvered, three dimensional 12th/ 20th Corps star 1.5" across and retaining its two wire fasteners on the back; a stamped brass 18th Corps badge painted red with the original t-bar pin back, perhaps the bottom part of the silhouette version of the badge; a silver 6th Corps badge with wire fasteners in place, measuring 1.25"; a nickel silver 7th Corps crescent/star emblem with its original t-bar pin on the reverse and measuring about 1" x 1"; a very nice miniature, gold crossed saber badge; an unusual stamped brass 10th/ 24th Corps badge having a heart inside a bastioned fort, with the fastener missing from the lead-filled back; a large brass First Corps badge measuring 1.5" in diameter with a red enamel inset and a t-bar pin fastener on the back, crudely decorated around the rim.
