Description
Very Fine M1886 Winchester Rifle, #30764, Manufactured in 1889. Caliber .40-65, 26" octagon barrel. Gun retains 90% of the original bright blue, the balance fading/ mixing with smooth brown patina. There are a few small patches of very light pitting on the left flat of the barrel near the muzzle. Frame, lever, buttplate with traces of case color, generally smooth clean and bright with two small patches of light pitting on the left side of the frame, very minor. The hammer retains 95% of the bright case colors. Mint bore, mechanically perfect. The two tang screws are missing, obviously the result of removing a sight as the area displays all of the original bright case colors. Wood very nice with some minor scratches/ dents and one noteworthy nick on the right side of the forestock. There is also an old repair to a chip at the frame on the right side of the tang. Overall a very pretty M1886 rifle.Auction Info
