Description
U.S. Model 1866 Allen Conversion .50 Caliber Trapdoor RifleUnserialized, .52 caliber, 36 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding sight. Lock dated 1864 and marked: U.S. WM. MASON TAUNTON. Top of barrel stamped: 1746GRS08. Smooth full body wood stock with three barrel bands, sling swivels and ramrod. US marked steel buttplate.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with scattered wear and pitting. Wood showing scattered light scuffs and dings. Action good.
