    Description

U.S. Model 1860 Staff & Field Officers' Sword 30 1/4" blade etched for 3/4" its length with scrolls, stand of arms, panoply of flags, a spread wing American eagle and "U.S.". Blade is bright with a few areas of dark staining, mostly at the tip. Ricasso marked "S.N.Meyer Washington D.C.". Sharkskin grip and twisted wire wrap show minor wear. Cast brass hilt with folding kidney shaped guard. Both guards with American eagle motif. Nickel plated steel scabbard exhibits scattered minor surface roughness and wear to the nickel at the lower band. The scabbard lining is loose, which prevents the sword from seating properly.
