US M1872 Light Artillery Officer's Saber. Actually a scarce US sword with this being a near mint example. 32" curved, unetched blade, near perfect, with just a few stains and a couple of spots of very light/negligible surface rust, retaining most of the original luster. Regulation hilt with cast decoration on the face and top of the pommel, knuckle bow, cross guard and quillon about perfect retaining most of the original gilt. Sharkskin grip with twisted brass wire wrap also about perfect. Nickled steel scabbard with regulation style brass ring mounts and drag also near perfect with just some very light surface rust, easily cleaned. Brass mounts retain much of the original gilt. Choice example of a very scarce US Indian Wars period saber.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
