Stunning Winchester M1892 Takedown Rifle, Caliber .32 WCF, #29959, Manufactured 1894. 24" octagon barrel. All of these details are confirmed in the accompanying factory letter. Barrel with 99% bright blue, receiver 95%, magazine tube 95%, with just some minor wear from the takedown feature. Balance of the metal parts with 95% blue. Lever and hammer with 100% brilliant case colors. Mint bore, mechanically perfect. Takedown lever with the June 6, 1893 patent date. Although not mentioned in the factory letter (and consultation with Winchester indicates this is not unusual) the gun is clearly fitted with 1/2 wood. A couple of minor dents else about perfect. There is a very minor, and expertly executed, repair, to a chip at the toe of the butt, that is virtually undetectable. A beautiful rifle in a scarce and desirable configuration.
