Stunning Whole Plate Tintype of the Rhode Island United Train of Artillery C. 1868. Unquestionably post Civil War, but a remarkable image for quality and the superb representation of uniform detail. All subjects wear gray coatees with short standup collars. Gray trousers with wide red stripe. Epaulettes with red fringe and boards, shakos with red and white feathered plumes . All details of the uniforms and headgear exquisitely tinted gilt and red including the ribbons/ medals with crossed cannons on each sitter's breast. Two subjects at the right with their belt plates gilt tinted with UTA/1775, representing the Rhode Island United Train of Artillery, Absolutely the finest quality and excellent condition with just some bluing around the edges. Housed in a period, hand carved, maroon velvet lined, walnut frame. Great image.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
