Smith & Wesson 2d Model Schofield .45 Cal. Revolver #7507. Barrel now shortened to 5" with correct front sight reset accordingly. All metal smooth and gray. Mechanically fine, very good markings and good bore. Fitted with a set of period ivory grips that have clearly been with the gun since its period of use. The right grip is deeply relief carved with a tucked wing American eagle surmounted by a riband. Grips show honest wear but excellent with rich mellow patina. A truly character laden Smith that brings to mind the adage "if only they could talk." A gun that clearly saw considerable use.
