Description
Pacific Northwest Indian Wars: Rare Silver Participant's Badge. The design features crossed Winchester-style shotguns in relief, superimposed over an Indian arrow and a five pointed star. In block letters: "Indian War Veterans N.P.C." Excellent condition with light tarnish and original pin on verso. Engraved inscription on verso reading: "J. C. Lloyd/ Colfax, Wash." Diameter 1.125". Our research indicates that John Calvin Lloyd, Jr. was born in Clay County, Missouri on October 2, 1838, and died at Colfax, Washington on July 19, 1922. His grave marker is marked "J.C. Lloyd." A most attractive and unusual item, only the second example we have handled.Auction Info
