Description
Model 1868 U.S. Springfield Rifle. Cal. .50. Serial number 38571. Lock marking with eagle and "U.S./ Springfield" and 1863 date. Breechblock dated 1870. An honest example with a broken rear sight blade and the metal uniformly dark with some light pitting. The stock shows honest use with a number "25" stenciled on the left side of the butt.
