    Mescalero Apache Sitting in Whittick Studio, San Carlos, New Mexico Territory, ca. 1880s. Wittick & R. W. Russell had a partnership that traveled northeastern New Mexico Territory, Arizona & northern Mexico photographing Indians, Pueblos, and the Wild West. They were at this location in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1881-1884.

    This Whittick & Russell image of an Apache man has bow and arrow set in hand, with all the accoutrements. He is sitting in studio with young Indian woman beside him. In period ink verso, "Carlos, Mescalero Apache". Measures approximately 4" x 7".

    Very good-fine, some light foxing.
