Gun is overall about mint, retaining 98% of the nickel, with gold plating on the ejector rod housing, cylinder flutes, hammer faces and trigger. Full engraved coverage including screws on the frame, with deep crisp scrolls and a few floral and geometric touches with punch dot background, absolutely superb detail and tight crisp scrolls, characteristic of Agee's work. Mechanically perfect, perfect bore, crisp markings. Eagle carved ivory grips marked on the inside in pencil #398 American Eagle, perfect, with nice light age patina. This is the exact gun pictured on both the cover and PP. 18 &19 at top, of the November 1994 issue of "The Gun Report". Additional accompanying documentation, a manuscript letter from highly regarded Colt engraver Weldon Bledsoe, states that he recalls the gun, and that it was one of a pair, the other gun #318224, that were engraved by Agee for 'Wild West Showman' Shorty Williams C. 1945. Other documentation also included identifying this gun as one of a pair. A magnificent engraved Colt SAA, in pristine condition, as executed by one of the most desirable of all 20th century Colt engravers.
