M1873 Winchester Rifle Caliber .22 Short, #263206. Manufactured in Early 1888. 24" full octagon barrel. Metal generally smooth with dark patina, just some scattered minor dents, brass floor plate with a number of small dents. Missing the dust cover and firing pin housing, but functions fine. Also missing the screw on the forend cap. Bore fair. Wood excellent with nice dark untouched patina. Inlaid on both sides of the butt stock are 1" metal tokens embossed "Pawnee Bills/ Wild West/ Privileges" obviously implying the gun was owned by a member of the show. Honest 1873, in a scarce caliber with and interesting history.
