Indian Wars Document Signed for Indian Scout "Blue Tomahawk" Discharge from the U. S. Army, 1878. Lt. George W. Baxter, 3rd Cavalry A superb U. S. Government document, partly printed and dated October 31, 1878 in which Indian Cavalry Scout "Blue Tomahawk" is released from service in the United Sates Army.

Document features a screaming eagle vignette and reads in part, "Know ye that Blue Tomahawk a private of 2nd Lieutenant George W. Baxter, 3rd Cavalry Company of the Spotted Tail Indian Scouts who was enrolled on the 1st of July, 1878 to serve four months or during the war, is hereby discharged from the service of the United States." The document further gives a brief physical description of Blue Tomahawk and is signed by George W. Baxter, 2nd Lieutenant, 3rd Cavalry Company. A very rare manuscript Indian Scout document from the days of the Indian Wars. Measures approximately 8.25" x 10.75".

    Good-very good, some foxing.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
