Description

Indian Wars: 39-Star Cavalry Guidon.

17.5" x 12" cotton guidon with 39-stars in the canton. The field is stamped "3 A" with crossed swords (Company A, 3rd Regiment or Battalion). The number of stars, an unusual aspect, would date it to November 1889. Three cord attachments. Light overall fading with normal aging, but fully intact. We believe it originally had red stripes which have pretty much faded away. Quite unusual.
