Indian War Era Canteen with Shoulder Strap, ca. 1880s. This 1880s Indian War canteen features a rare and unusual soft animal skin cover. The material, possibly leather or hide, suggests it may have been privately made or adapted for field use, providing a durable and natural protective layer. Shoulder strap is unmarked. Original ring top cork stopper with chain intact.Condition: The skin cover shows signs of wear consistent with its age and use in a rugged environment, Overall, Fine condition.
