Hopkins & Allen/ Merwin & Hulbert Single Action Army Revolver, Caliber .44-40, #25309. Top of the barrel bears the two line markings only of Hopkins & Allen with the last patent date of March 6, '77. Marked on the left side of the frame "Calibre/ Winchester/ 1873". The gun retains about 50% of the original nickel finish, the balance smooth and light gray. Fully engraved in the rather rudimentary style typical of these guns. Original lanyard ring on the butt. Mechanically perfect, very tight, with excellent bore. The gun retains the original factory ivory grips which are excellent. Nice untouched patina with just some minor age hairlines on the bottom and four notches neatly carved on the right side, very sound and fit perfectly, obviously original to the gun. An attractive untouched gun in a scarce configuration with a lot of "western" flavor.
