Frederick Remington's "Trooper of the Plains" Bronze Statue Reproduction. 12 1/2-inch x 14-inch bronze casting on marble base with brass plate. Initials "SB" in ground below the horse's hooves. Originally produced in 1908 as Remington's 21st bronze, "Trooper of the Plains" was intended to be an homage to the mounted soldier of the late 1800s. Hallmarks of Remington's work here include good detail of late 1860s cavalry uniform and equipment. Noteworthy is the rendering of the running horse with all 4 hooves off the ground. Condition: Excellent.
