    Frank D. Baldwin: Two-Time MOH Winner Archive. Extensive lot of ephemera related to Frank D. Baldwin who won the Congressional Medal of Honor twice (Peach Tree Creek in the Civil War and McClellan's Creek in the Indian Wars). He is the only man to win two Medals of Honor for actions in two different conflicts. He was second in command to General Nelson A. Miles and was present at the end of hostilities in 1891. The group includes: a circa 1870-1875 CDV of Baldwin, an 1880 cabinet card from Yankton, Dakota Territory, an 1895 cabinet card depicting him wearing his two MOH's, an 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" mounted albumen showing Baldwin and family members at Fort Davis [Texas], a 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" mounted albumen showing Baldwin seated on a hillside dated 1889 from Fort Davis (minor loss to albumen on left side), a framed albumen of Baldwin and his wife taken at the time of their 1867 wedding, 7" x 9 1/2" silver print studio portrait showing Baldwin wearing all his medals, a circa 1903 hardbound book signed by Baldwin titled "Record Nineteenth Michigan Infantry Civil War 1861-1865", seven War Department letters related to the MOH's awarded Baldwin, a 1912 memo book written by Baldwin listing "old uniforms and trimmings", cabinet card of Ft. Davis, small mounted sepia photo of Baldwin on a hunting trip near Ft. Totten in 1887, ambrotype of Baldwin's wife (Alice Blackwood Baldwin), tintype of wife and daughter, Woodrow Wilson White House invitation, 1887 manuscript "extract" of Ft. Totten inspection report, ten assorted portraits of Baldwin including a portrait of him on horseback signed and dated 1904 and another one of him & Miles at a 1903 Denver G.A.R. encampment, two reference books, a file of photocopy research material, three folders of real estate documents and correspondence, plus a small packet of personal correspondence going back to the early 1870's.
